In celebration for the Day of Love

HAPPY belated VALENTINE'S DAY!
It seemed so silly to put (the below) blog post up yesterday because the Mister surprised me with one and I wanted to give him his time to shine. It was very touchingthank you. UNLIKE my blog posts which is usually either REALLY mushy or REALLY random,  I can never be as eloquent as you.

This pre-written blog post below was meant for yesterday.

*****

No plans for today but I am very excited to go back home this weekend to enjoy a belated valentine's day weekend! Let's pray that there will be no delays this time around.

For Valentine's Day all I bought for my sweetie was the typical valentine's day card.
I am not sure about you guys but to me the hardest part I find  is what to write without sounding too cheesy.
But my thoughts are
'It's VDAY, you're going to sound mushy'
so Mister please be prepared for that.

Last year I was pretty creative (click here) and cooked a nice meal for 2.
This year we are just going to
dress up
eat out
and
  enjoy
because cooking together just takes WAYYYYY too long.

If I EVER find the time,  these are some cute ideas that I would loveeee to do.

Click HERE if you want to learn how to make these yummy treats!

Heart shaped foods!
(alot of my photos are from the Color Issue, I just LOVE HER!)

For some odd reason I am obsessed with these Heart Garland. It looks so amazing but it only takes a little time to do.

This website had loads of cute DIY heart garland (click HERE).

And if you LOVE to read....

If you try any of it, let me know what you think.

And no matter what you are doing today, show your appreciation to the people that means the most to you, whether its your husband/wife, best friend, or your mommy/daddy.

What were your plans this Valentine's Day? Any surprises that you would love to share?
XOXO

The Wanted - Glad You Came

The best part about this entire ride has been the company I have had in the past year and change. I haven't had anyone affect me as much as Marley has. New emotions both good and bad come around with her, but it's all because she matters to me. I care. A good example of this was the week before I left for China on my business trip.

She told me that the night before I left, she wouldn't be able to talk to me at all, because she had made plans, which is good and all. I don't expect her to wait around for me from where she was, just so she could keep me company over the phone on my last night. I don't want to ask for so much, because honestly, away from home, she has her own life, as I have mine. I will admit, I was a little bummed out. I was about to be half way around the world, and in the event anything were to happen, I wouldn't have had that last send off from her. I figure, she has her own things going on. I don't want to get in the way. And this is what I mean. I normally could have cared less, but because it was her, it mattered. If I could steal her away from school, I would just to have her by my side all the time, every time. I guess it just sucked that she didn't feel the same way.

I spoke too soon though, because right when I was making final preparations to leave for the airport, she arrives in the doorway calling my name. It was only 5 minutes, but it just showed how much I did matter for her to travel all the way down here to say goodbye. 5 minutes of embracing, kissing, smiling, and story telling of the events that transpired to that moment. Unfortunately, I couldn't prolong it. I had to go, but I thought about that and her for most of that plane ride. Listening to those songs on my iPhone that reminded me of her, sad and happy at the same time, but feeling like I wasn't whole, and that I had left something behind. These are the feelings that were a gift from Marley. That have changed me, because as many people know, I tend to be pretty emotionless. She's opened up a new world for me, which is the entire reason I had to take a chance on her from the beginning. I knew she was different. I knew she was perfect. Everyday I have with her is more evidence to support that belief.

By the way, it's 4:57AM and I have work in a few hours. Jet lag is still kicking my ass, so instead of trying to sleep and potentially snoozing my alarm clock until I miss all my meetings at work in the morning, decided to get on the treadmill, get my run done, and get into work early. However, just thought I would write this blurb to show her that I care about her as well. Happy Valentine's Day babe.

I am really glad you came. =)

acts of love

So like a typical girlfriend I always ALWAYS say 'Oh yea let's not do gifts this year'.
Let's just go out and enjoy our time together. I don't need presents.

BOYFRIENDS- DO NOT LISTEN TO HER!

So yes I do mean it (at least partially) that I don't want a gift because it's the time together that matters the most. But you DO NOT want to be that boyfriend whose girlfriend actually got you something and you are left standing there idiotically with no gift in return.

Just sayin'.

SO HURRY!!! You still have
one
more
  day.
 Go get something!
Show her that you care.
Actions speak louder than words

The past few days I saw/heard just that! Very cute gestures of affection.

A boyfriend waiting for the girlfriend at the baggage claim.
Not only did he get to see lovely girlfriend but also was given a new suitcase as a gift filled with goodies inside. I love the cute heart acting as a name tag.

Cooking breakfast for your sweetie just because...

Accidentally getting your gift a day too early

and

purposely getting your gift early just because he could not wait!

XOXO

Marley's List Day Three: Eight ways to win your heart.

Valentine's Day is just around the corner!
I was reminiscing about how I met the Mister and how I knew he was THE ONE
It wasn't obvious or even love at first sight.
It was because of "The List".
The List was 8 ways to win your heart.

For the Sweet Heart Rice Krispy Recipe click HERE

The purpose of My List was to help me pinpoint what I wanted in someone. I didn't want to waste my time messing around or being in a relationship where it wasn't bad but..... it wasn't good either. I guess I should thank my sister for this one because I made the list up for her and her friend's
  10 day Blog Challenge
And then I met the Mister.
And after meeting the Mister, it's very crazy how accurate he is to my list.

So I just wanted to share my list and encourage you to make your own. :)
Write what is important to YOU in winning your heart.

Dated Nov 4 2010

I am easily amused by whatever, I have A LOT of love to give, and it really isn't hard to win me over so here goes:

1. First step is: You have to be charming, clean cut, with strong features. Dress properly for whatever events. It turns me on if you can pull off wearing glasses and a sweater vest (Meteor Garden Ken's character) and still look sexy. Can dress like a dork but still look good.

2. You need to be able to handle small dogs, love sushi, and my hyperactive ADHD moods. I am a dork. I say random shit, do random things, and don't make sense most of the time so you would need to be OK with that.

Mocha is our family's Chihuahua and she is my baby.
You have to love her and get along with her if you want to get with me!
If you love sushi, you are my new best friend because I will do anything for sushi. I used to waitress at a sushi restaurant because a)needed the money and b) needed the money to feed my sushi addiction.

3. "If you wanna be my lover
you gotta get with my friends" Remember that? Spice Girls. I loved listening to them when I was growing up because their songs were upbeat and about relationships and friendships. I treasure my friends, all of them. They are apart of my life for a reason and they are a big part of who I am. Boys come and go but good friends stick with you. So hopefully you can get along with them as well.

4. Intelligence and humor. Someone that is very funny ( NOT JACKA$$ funny) and can make me and others laugh will get my attention and in order to hold onto that, you need to be intelligent. I don't mean college educated because I am fine if you don't go to college as long as you have a set career path that leads to bigger and better things; but someone who I can hold good conversation with and we can learn from each other.
a NO NO
5. Sociable/Confident/Open minded: All these characteristics to me are one category. I go out a lot when I am back home. Whether its for family gatherings, friends birthdays, dinners, and bar outings- It would be nice to have someone there with me by my side at a party but, also able to go out on your own and mingle with others . I don't want to have to
worry if your bored because you are too shy/stubborn to meet new people. If you can meet new people, it shows me that you are confident in yourself.  You need to be open minded and trust me because I have both close girl and guy friends so you have to be okay with me having dinner with just a guy.

6. I like to be wined and dined (preferably at a Japanese restaurant), taken care of, romanticized, place a jacket over my shoulder, open doors, the whole 9 yards.

7. Be able to go out and have fun-It doesn't hurt to smile, let loose, laugh out loud. But can also just stay home and watch movies together. I can be a homebody one minute and flyy girl the next.

8. Last but not least-Family. You could come from either a good family or no family at all, I don't care as long as you want to have a family and be close with mines.

My family is a HUGE part of my life. I am from a big family and I am close to all of them. We have so many dinners every month for whatever reason and I try to make it to all of them because it's a time where we can chat, have good food, and update each other on whats going on. They are a mix of different personalities and they will definitely go into your business but if you can handle them, then you are set for life.

*****

The person you're with doesn't have to have everything on your list but if s/he fits a few of what win's your heart, then your off to a good start!
XOXO

10 hours of Hell for 5 minutes of Heaven

This was a nice weekend to spend time with family for my father's birthday as well as surprise the Mr.-And Me by spending a few hours with him before leaving for his trip.

My ride home was very eventful.
So I bought my bus ticket. There were 2 choices: Megabus or Greyhound. The difference was greyhound would arrive 30 minutes early and was 3 dollars cheaper, the only catch was the longer travel time (4hr30mins VS 3hr30mins). I was thinking great deal as long as I get to spend even an extra half an hour with the Mister, that would be all worth it.

But it all went downhill from there.

Let me give you a play by play:
5:45pm Arrive at Bus station. Called the mister telling him I am at a school event and may not have time to talk to him until later that night.
6:30pm Departure time. Where is said bus?
7:10pm Bus arrives. Customer service did not announce why it was late or that it was running late in the first place. Just standing there waiting around all confused like an idiot.
7:20pm Bus finally leaves. Bus driver says we will not get to final destination until 11:45pm. Ok, at least I have 4 hours with the mister.
7:50pm  Someone from the back of the bus talks to the bus driver and the bus driver pulls over into the breakdown lane. He walks towards the back of the bus to the bathroom, inspects that. Goes outside inspect this. Still confused, no one knows what is going on or what is wrong.
8:59pm Arrived at first stop along the route. Arrival time should have been 7:15pm. Bus driver inspects some more. No one knows anything. Someone says they smell fuel, we are all theorizing that the diesel fuel tank is leaking.
9:21pm Bus driver announces he can no longer drive this bus without informing us why and that it will take 2 more hours until another bus can pick us up. He lets everyone off the bus to get some fresh air or food.

During this 2 hour break
An 80ish y/o couple comes back inside smelling of weed. They almost started a fight with other passengers about seats. They continuously walk back and forth down the aisles sitting on seats, then getting up and sitting on other seats. I feel like I am being Punk'D, constantly checking my phone for the time, anxiously awaiting for the bus.

9:55pm Determining that if the bus gets here now than maybe 2 hours with the Mister. I will NEVER cheat on you again MEGABUS! NEVER!
10:45pm maybe 1 hour???  DAMN YOU GREYHOUND!
11:00pm It is looking grim. maybe 30 minutes....
11:06pm Coming to a sad realization that I may not see the Mister at all. I give him a call and was about to break down and tell him that I was visiting but I stop myself because it would just be futile. Tell him that I am at dinner with friends and wanted to just give him a quick I love you call.
11:31pm Bus FINALLY arrives. Bus driver is new and does not know how to get to the next stop. I would be in Boston by now if I were taking the Megabus :(
12:49am We get to Stop#2. What should have been a 25 minute rest stop becomes longer  because Bus driver is waiting on clearance for driving us to Boston and figuring out his route. Everyone is tense and cranky. People are yelling at bus driver with their arms flailing about in the air. People are frustrated. Old couple on bus having the time of their life exercising their mouth muscles in the aisle for all to see.
1:35am Bus leaves rest stop with no problems the rest of the way. I text the mister to call me when he wakes up.
4:09am Arrive at DESTINATION!!!!
Run to car to go home as quickly as superhumanly possible before the Mister leaves the house.
4:18am I am on highway frantically calling the house phone and his cell phone to no avail.
4:22am He calls me back saying he was in the shower. I am one exit away from home.

Marley: WHEN ARE YOU LEAVING??!?!?!
Mr: Soon.
Marley: Can you wait 10 minutes?
Mr: No.
Marley: 7 minutes?!!!
Mr: No. Why?
Marley: I am here. I am almost home.

As I get closer and closer to home, I can feel my heart racing and my nerves bursting out of my body. He leaves the front door open and I jump out of the car screaming his name as I race inside the house. I see him and we embrace. At least I get to see him off. Even if I was suppose to have a few hours with him I felt lucky to see him, even if it was for 5 minutes.

I've always used the megabus and it has not failed me so lesson learned, NEVER EVER CHEAT!!!
Even on your bus transportation providers.
