Chicago Photos (May)

I forgot about this trip but we went to visit Chicago back in May. I found them as I was flipping through photos of us, I tend to do that when I miss him. We used the Chicago CityPass and hit up all the tourist spots.

The Shedd Aquarium:
I just thought this was pretty artsy and cool photo.

The Bean:
As we were walking towards 'the Bean' I took out my phone and a butterfly just flew towards me and wouldn't leave me alone. I seriously had 3 minutes worth of photos with this butterfly.

 At Buckingham Foundation:
It looked beautiful and it was sortof like a music/light show at night.

At Skydeck Chicago ( Willis Tower):
I am deathly afraid of heights, LIKE DEATHLY AFRAID. It's so childish that I won't go down an escalator until someone goes in front of me so that I have someone to land on if I fall.
When we were coming up the elevator, my legs get shaky. In order for me to be in this photo, I had to walk backwards. I would NOT look down or behind me. It is a bit sad.

Okay Back to Studying!

Family Dinner: the first of many more to come!

For the whole summer I have been going home more often because
1. I miss home
2. I miss my mommy. YES!  I STILL CALL HER MOMMY and will always will, even when I am a wrinkly old 70year old lady.

We've been having family dinners over at my mother's house so it gives me an excuse to come over and eat my mom's home cooking.
This past week the Mister's parents - my future in laws- wanted to cook dinner for everyone. The Mister and I had our reservations about this -will it be awkward, what can we talk about during the dinner if it was, and how the heck will everyone fit upstairs?!?!

But in the end it worked out pretty well.
I guess the apple doesn't far from the tree.
They know how to throw a great party!

The food was so delicious and it was executed restaurant style.

Gordon Ramsay got nothing on us!

The parents were drinking hot tea and no matter how old I am- I still feel like we are 'THE KIDS'. At one point all the kids were just together chilling on the couch talking about marvel cards, video games, and Taylor Swift while the dads was talking about seafood and the moms was talking about cooking techniques.

It was so much fun that I actually can't wait until we have another family gathering, maybe with the middle sisters because they were both out of state at the time. Sorry dudes, you missed out!

XOXO,
Marley

California Adventures pt3: Yummy in my Tummy!

After the Mister was done working, we got to play
aka
 EAT LOTS OF FOOD!

Due to a friend Charmin Bear's recommendation I have always wanted to visit this place.

Sushi Stop
A sushi bar where ALL ITEMS ( rolls, nigiri, etc) you order is $2.75. I wasn't going there with high expectations and even though the rice was falling apart and the fish wasn't perfectly sliced, it was fresh and yummy.

I was so happy that you can tell from my photos
as I am staring heavenly at my sushi chef .
I wish they had this in Boston because it would fill my never-ending sushi cravings and not break the bank.

Another recommendation my friend told me to go
Half and Half:
It is honey milk with honey boba and pudding. I have never had pudding before so it was interesting. It doesn't taste super sweet (which I like) and the size is hugeeeee. I would think something like this costs >5.00 which is a large for Lollicup but this was only ~3-4 so it was awesome!!!!

Next stop was Fluff Ice

Not Frozen Yogurt and not Shaved Ice, not sure how to explain what it is but it is soft and melt in your mouth - sortof like ice cream. They have a limited number of flavors but they had a lot of unique ones such as the Thai Ice Tea flavored Fluff Ice. We got that with the lychee and mango jelly. It was a great combination.

These places are NOT in the East Coast so I will eat to my stomach's desire!

It was a short trip to LA so we couldn't do more other than quick snacks here and there but it was very fun.

Thank you to our friends who housed us and took us around.

XOXO,
Marley

California Adventures pt2 : R&R

It's nice to get away for a bit and just ... ponder.
The Mister had to work all day and night so I was left with my own devices.

Our hotel was basically surrounding by this....

and this

So the choices of what to do was somewhat limited
I was still more excited by the food :)

Things I did :
- Finished the novel 'Fifty Shades Freed' in a day. There's too much bedroom action going on,  Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey are cray cray!
- Went to the shopping mall but didn't want to buy anything since there is tax on clothes?!??!
- Tanned by the pool all morning and pitter patter in the water but couldn't last too long since the weather was a sweltering 106*.

By the pool, I saw this little boy and he was super cute. Is it creepy to take photos of other people's children? My first thoughts of this photo.....

LIKE A BOSS

The only time I may ever want children is so that I can take silly pictures of them and post it like the one above!

XOXO,
Marley

California Adventures pt1 : First Class Experience

The Mister had to travel to California for work so he took me along! It was really last minute since we had to book tickets the day before we had to fly out.
Is it lame to be OVERLY excited about first class?!?!?!

DUDE! It's my first time so I was jumping up and down inside
......until he told me that he bought himself an economy ticket......

I was SUPER mad at the Mister for buying me a first class ticket and not experiencing it with me. I don't want to sit next to a strange old fart!!!!!

Luckily when we checked into the airport he got a free upgrade and was able to change his seat next to mines :)

I remember a time when I sat in those small economy seats and being feed meals. That was a longggg time ago. Now MAYBE you could get a can of soda and for $7.49 some cheese and crackers. Sadness.

First Class flight attendants are so much more attentive to you. Before the plane even goes up they offer you a drink. All drinks and alcohol is free, then during the flight they offer you another. They give you a warm towelette to refresh your face and clean your hands with. You can have white or red wine with you meal. They walk around asking Croissant or Cinnamon roll. And in the end you get a cookie!
Very classy :)
A+ !

XOXO,
Marley

July Update

Nothing much to update this month except that the Mister cerebrated his BIRTHDAY!!!!
He is now 1 year older and his body definitely has been rebelling against him. We went for a run and while I scolded him for not stretching, he would replied in a matter of fact tone
'I never have to stretch'.

......a few hours later.......
He can barely walk because he strained his left butt cheek- YES HIS LEFT BUTTOCK.

...the next day...
he accidentally cut himself in the hand.

...a week later...
twisted his ankle at work

...the month before...
broke his hand

I think I have met my match because I have never met anyone as clumsy as I, either that or someone has cursed him using a voodoo doll.

Anywho.....

I can't believe I have less than a month until school starts again. I was trying to document a lot of the stuff we say to each other because he just cracks me up! It will give me a chance to look back on it while I am stressing over exams.

While watching a 'Kendra On Top' in Miami episode:
Mister: oh hey!!! We went to that club!!!! ( pointing excitedly)
..me ignoring him..
Mister: HEY!!! WE WENT TO THAT CLUB!!!! ( giving me the pay attention to me voice)
...me giving him the evil eye...
Marley: um when did we go to Miami together??
Mister:( gives me an oh crap look)
...me eye rolling...

Because I make such a mess:
Mister:  I can't wait to do a full cleaning of this house. It will be so orgasmic.

Arguing about his and mines:
Mister: When you talk to your friends, it's OUR porch. But when it comes down to cleaning it, it's MY porch?!?!?!

When we go out:

Marley: Do I look like a grandma?
Mister: ...... { walks away}
XOXO,
Marley
