O Christmas Tree!

O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree! 

Thy candles shine so brightly!

I wish we had candles hanging off our tree. It would look super romantic but I wouldn't want to start a fire in my living room. 

6 hours and 5 stores later we got our real live Christmas tree with the works! 7 foot tree? Check. Red and Gold ornaments? Check. Snow made out of 100% cotton? Check.   Wreath perfectly hanging on our door? Check. White lights? Check. Star on top? Still searching for the perfect star.

This is actually one of the few times I am happy for Sunday Night football since the guys did help us with the muscle work of the tree. While we did run into a snafu because the ornaments were not shatter resistant ( good note for next year!) and the garland was not to our expectations, it was fun to have one together. 

Oh how I love the smell of pine.

First day back

First day home and so much to do! Unpacking now and if you know the Mr.Me- HE IS VERY OCD.

I like my hangers! Well I like anything purple but I guess it does look jumbled up because its not consistent. So if you know the Mister, you know what he will do.

Sorry just wanted to take a quick break from finals studying to say that OH MY GOD I LOVE LOVE LOVE this blog

Within the first 0.5 seconds, it was so colorful and wonderful and now I am inspired to build a pomegranate tree and make homemade jelly!!! I can barely toast my own bread, let alone plant a tree but because of her and hopefully with the permission of the Mr.-And Me , one day I will.

The Great Food Truck Race

We never really watched the show but we thought that since it appeared on television and it was in Boston and that I LOVE GRILLED CHEESE, then we should give it a try.

 It was our first time eating from a food truck.

They are pretty popular in LA and NYC and I guess it is becoming big in Boston. This was gourmet grill cheese with gourmet prices-2 grilled cheese and french fries for ~18 bucks!!!!

Handcut Truffle Fries

The mighty Rib Melt smelled pretty good and it is definitely a hungry man sandwich.There was soo much meat spilling out! I wanted the Green Muenster Melt without the bacon but sadly it is premixed with the guac so I got the Fall Melt which has pumpkin in it so that was interesting.

It was nice to try it but I don't think I would go out of my way to get it. Hopefully this will be the first of many more food trucks that we will get to explore and hopefully with more veggie options!

Why I keep coming back

One of the reasons why I love going home is because there's always a surprise waiting for me.

My personal favorites in this order:  1) Mr.-Me 2) Sushi 3) Johnny

*of course family and friends are all in there. So no worries! 

I got to snuggle with the honey at night and when he went to work, I curled up this morning reading my magazine and fantasizing about my girly high school crush love affair with Johnny. But in all seriousness I love going home and being with my love. It is a plus that Megabus (Round trip $16-30) has made its stop here from Burlington to Boston at a way cheapo price than Greyhound ( RT $92). 

Now with my Keurig coffee in one hand and my pharmcokinetics slides on the other, need to study for Monday's exam!

Phone Home

We didn't do anything super crazy but it was a momentous night because we got a phone together. :) I know phone home lines are the thing of the past but the reception at home is HORRIBLE!!! And we even went way  back into the past and got ourselves a corded phone in case of a power outage or alien invasion attack (reference to movie Battle: Los Angeles). 

After getting a line together and setting it up, the first on our to do list was -can you guess?
Making a voicemail together! Yea I can see some of you cringing and doing the finger in mouth puking motion but I think it's super cute. And yes- we did finish each other's sentences in the machine. Hit us up if you want our number.

Awkward and Awesome Sunday

Back at home. Still relaxing in bed. Its one of those days where I want to snuggle under the covers and the house is so cold that I don't even want to get up to pee. 


I am following the Daybook and I love her blog. She's cute and adorable and very interesting. She has awkward and awesome days so I just wanted to tell you about my awkward and awesome Sunday.


Awkward
-as I was about to go to the basement to get my and his laundry from the dryer, I saw the laundry basket in front of door with clothes folded. Mom C folded my clothes which included underwear :( So yea felt bad and awkward.
-another moment: He is temporary out of order due to a foot fracture so when he tried to put the clothes away, it was a fail. 

Awesome

Recap of Last night

So i went home and it was dark! Phong didnt text me back at midnightish. He told me he had friends over. at first I thought like wow- maybe he lied about having people over to make him look busy when I was busy. I was telling him i couldnt talk to him all day cuz i was busy chilling with VT peeps. 

So I started cuddling him and he cuddled back!!! 0_0

and then he turned over and was like babe?!?! babe. and he kept calling babe and smiling. :) at first he thought he was dreaming and then he saw me and was pretty shocked and speechless. He looked like he was about to cry but didnt. lol

but yea he was happy. and yes he did have friends over but they left at 1130pm and he got messed up and past out.

Weekend Painting

We finished painting!!!! I hope I don't ever have to paint again. That was just too much work.

It's not as yellow as the photo on their catalog. It's pretty light.

 It's actually lighter than what is shown on the swatch. Since the ceiling wasn't too high from the ground, we needed to make the green tea lighter so we added 50% green tea and 50% Ultra pure White- Both from Behr.
And this was the result of that

I'm glad that we decided to try something new and paint the ceiling because it looks different but it definitely looks more like our home.

Cape Cod Adventures

I love spontaneity! And it just gets easier if your job-less... like me! The BF's last day on his old job was last Tuesday and so after he came home he goes "Wanna go to the Cape?", my response "Why not?".

What I love more than being spontaneous is traveling. I went back to get further education so that I could earn more money doing what I love. And that money will definitely go towards traveling and other future goals.

The Cape is pretty darn big and each town has their own unique sites. We stayed mostly in the Hyannis area.

We got to enjoy some fun in the sun at Nauset Beach.

The sand/water/clouds were perfect. It was a great day to get your tan on. The beach doesn't get too crowded when your arriving at 10am but during the lunchtime hour, the beach was packed with people.

For lunch we went to Spanky's Clam Shack.

The outdoor patio faces the water and it could have been much better if there wasn't a boathouse blocking my view.  We decided to order the New England Clam Chowder (YAY!), Crab Cake (meh) , and Fried Calamari (ok).
The Chowder is the best I have ever eaten. It was absolutely delicious!
Overall a good experience. The waitstaff was kind and the food came out fast. I would recommend coming here for the chowder and the view!

 Afterwards we checked out the Cape Cod Potato Chip factory.

I am totally in love with the Salt and Pepper chips so I was super excited to see the factory especially because we were staying super close to here. But when we got inside I was a bit disappointed because it was just a hallway with information on the wall and a plexi glass where you can gaze inside the factory. Maybe I came at a bad time because there was barely any chips being made.

Overall had a nice time with my honey relaxing by the beach and hearing the waves.
