The bathroom before didn't look too bad. It was just sterile white all around with not much shelf space. We had a shower curtain with 3 colors that I liked so we decided to use the Home Depot / Behr Color Match computer system. With not much help from the guy in the counter, we did it and it was super ugly -___-. The shower curtain was light tan/brown but it turned to poop brown. The 2nd color was peach-ish which I was ok-happy with.
To make the poop brown less poopy- we added some Ultra White and it turned out nicely.

After:
I really like how the light and color makes it much more of a home. The lonely little white shelf improved to two large half-cockpit shaped size His/Her shelves the bf made.
So far- this first home improvement was a great success!
Hope you enjoy the ride.

white board messages
Before I moved into 'our' home, there was a lot of bachelor remnants still present such as the sports paraphernalia hanging on the walls, the beer pong tablet and the white board hanging in the dining room which keeps the score of the game.
I always thought these things were lame and that he totally needs a 'man cave', especially the white board.
But that was until recently....
we started writing love messages on it. Since I have been on hiatus from repainting/redecorating the rooms in the home due to my leg surgery, he has put messages on the white board so that every morning when I wake up and walk by it, I see them and reply back.
I am so grateful that I found someone who expresses their feelings so easily. I love him so much. <3

I bet you can't tell which one I wrote and which one he did.

A well deserved break from the painting
So every Friday night is date night and we definitely needed to get out of the house and away from the painting and sawing. We try to go to new places to just experience it and maybe yelp about it too.
Since I don't eat meat, my carnivorous sweetie is always thoughtful and tries to push me to go to all vegetarian restaurants because I can have a slew of choosing to pick from in the menu versus looking at just one small part of the menu at a regular restaurant. I am always a bit weary of them because they end up not being very good at all and full of grease and preservatives and yucky fake meat.
But we went to a place called "Red Lentil" that I have always wanted to try and it was SO GOOD. Many of the yelp reviews are positive and its not just from vegetarians but also meat eaters. From the appetizers to the entrees to the side dishes and desserts, it was all A+. The down side is that everything is big portions for a good price so you may have to pace yourself if you want dessert but its a yummy place and you are able to doggy bag it for lunch the next day.

Shepard's pie with some sweet potato and other veggies.
Dessert was soo yummy. This is the banana chocolate cake. So rich and moist!

Wall Vinyl Lettering
When we went to Walmart for some random knick knacks, we stumbled upon the photo frames area where it had lots of wall deco to put on your wall at home. The quotes 'Laugh, Love, and Live' was a popular theme as well as 'Family'.
And have you ever wondered::: 'Damn- THIS WILL DEFINITELY not match his wall'.
PICTURE THIS:
Living Room:
all corners of the wall filled with sports posters.
FOOTBALL
BASKETBALL
HOCKEY
Dining Room:
There is a large screen television with a workout gym on the side. The table isn't a dining table; more like a beer pong table.
Kitchen:
It is so tiny that anymore than 2 people in there is crowded.
Hallway:
You mean that dark area where all our sneakers are kept and no one hangs out there? Yea this could be a 'potential' area for it.
I was looking at examples from websites on where to place them but it would just seem so awkward. Quotes on the wall is DEF a girl thing, or at least a place for a daughter's room. His living space is too masculine.
I need to balance it out a bit-but I am just not sure where to start and having a quote in a random area in the home won't help it- yet.
HELPPP!

First Introductions
"You are the butter to my bread, you are the breath to my life."
When I first heard that quote from the movie 'Julie & Julia', I was single and eating grapes and drinking wine with my girlfriends. I romanticize that hopefully one day I would find my Prince Charming who would treat me as well as in the movies. And I finally have.
Months later, after a whirlwind romance (as cliche as it sounds), I have found my soul mate.
Now I am back from school for the summer and since my parents have taken over my bedroom, my boyfriend invited me into his home to live with him.
What will this blog be all about?
Our plans this summer is to just have fun and also to redo his bachelor pad into 'OUR' new home. I tried to look up other blogs but it was a bit hard for me to find so I figured maybe I'll try blogging about it. Just letting you know that due to limited funds, we can't go too crazy but just need to make it a bit more feminine up in here.
